Sedona is a remarkably beautiful and powerful area. While visiting Sedona many people experience spontaneous emotional and mystical shifts in consciousness that can be quite overwhelming and unexpected. But when these types of experiences are intentionaly cultivated in a safe environment with an experienced and dedicated guide (a shaman), the impact of such an encounter can awaken creative energies and potentials that may have been stagnant or unrealized. Our guides have more than forty years of experience in helping people awaken to altered states of consciousness with the land and integrating those special moments into their lives in a meaningful way. Although the whole area is metaphysically charged with energy, there are over one hundred specific "power" spots throughout the Sedona area. We have been permitted by the National Forest Service to guide people into many of these special places that physically appear as sacred canyons, ceremonial caves, magical vistas, healing springs, and the flowing waters of the sacred Oak Creek Canyon. The hiking journeys listed below are grouped by the trail rating to get to the power places. Although the physical aspect is only one important part of the journey, please choose one that matches your physical ability. For those that don't want, or aren't able, to manage walking these trails we offer journeys and ceremonies in private locations where minimum walking is required. Here are just a few of them: Physically Mild Journeys: Sacred
Canyon - The power spot of this journey is the confluence of
two spectacular box canyons where a towering rock formation resembling
a giant doubled-headed serpent stands watch. This journey focuses
on duality - light and dark, sacred and mundane, female and male,
intellectual and spiritual, etc. and the balancing of these contrasts
within us. The power spot invites integration, visionary experiences,
and awe at the mystery of life. Usually we have this whole area
to ourselves as not many people know of this sacred place. Carousel
- A popular Sedona "vortex" site, this power spot is conducive
to receiving messages and heightened intuition and psychic abilities.
The "carousel" rock formation serves as a giant antenna
that we can connect to and use if our intention is clear and our
mind is reduced of distractions. This can be an extremely powerful
journey if we are open to it. Oak
Creek - Casner Canyon - This power spot has many diverse energies
mixing within it. It is located on an ancient fault line where sacred
springs that feed the oak creek rise from the earth. Here, water
meets air, red rock touches sky, and the flowing reality of life
is inspired by the twists and turns of the canyon formations. Sitting
just beneath the carousel vortex, the feminine qualities of the
canyon are balanced by the masculine energy of the mountains. This
site inspires spiritual rejuvination, creativity, and "getting
into the flow" of the life your talents are calling you to
live. Note** This outing sometimes requires crossing the Oak Creek
at a shallow spot. Most times of year we can walk a log bridge over,
but other times it's necessary to enter the creek. In the warm seasons
this will be more than welcome! Physically Moderate Journeys: Red
Rock High - (Vortex, Views) The expansive and fantastic views
of this power spot inspires us to develop our authentic calling
in life. From high atop the Mogollon rim and with views of many
popular "vortex" sites we call upon the power of the five
directions for increased energy, vision, and wisdom. Here, all merges
into one grand continuum. What is seemingly inside becomes out and
outside becomes in. Duality disappears as we awaken to the world.
Council
of Elders - Cockscomb (Vortex, Views) For those that come to
Sedona to commune with the Ancient Ones, this is the place. Journeying
to the council of elders rock formation is a pligrimage to an ancient
book of knowledge that we can open with the powers of intent and
humbleness. No one can predict what you will learn here, but everyone
leaves changed. Not recommended during the mid-day heat of summer. Private journeys are a great option, price is: 1-3 people $125 per hour, 4-7 people $150 per hour. Larger groups can be accommodated and priced as needed.
